At 14 and a half, my first job was delivering the local newspaper. That put me in proximity to a newsroom before I ever picked up a camera. A high school teacher, Mr. Elledge, taught me that a photograph’s first job is to tell the truth. That’s still the standard I hold every story to, whether it’s a brand shoot, a festival stage, or a flooded street in my own backyard.
